2022 All-State Orchestra Chair Placement Auditions for Strings

Auditions for All-State strings chair placements will be held just prior to the first rehearsal. The exact times are on your Rehearsal Schedule.

Students are expected to have learned all music prior to the first rehearsal, however the chair auditions will be the following specific excerpts:

1^st Violin 

• Verdi: rehearsal E through 1 measure before rehearsal F 
• Dvorak: 9 measures before rehearsal 10 through downbeat of rehearsal 10 

2^nd Violin 

• Verdi: 3^rd measure of rehearsal H through 4^th measure of rehearsal I 
• Verdi: first 8 measures of letter C 

Viola 

• Verdi: 4th measure before rehearsal I (omit 1^st beat) through 1 measure before J 
• Dvorak: 3^rd measure of rehearsal 10 through 16^th measure of rehearsal 10
  

Cello 

• Verdi: 4^th measure before rehearsal H (omit 1^st beat) through  5^th measure of I 
• Dvorak: 8^th measure before rehearsal 10 through last measure of rehearsal 10
  

Bass 

• Verdi: 4^th measure before rehearsal H (omit 1^st beat) through 5^th measure of I 
• Dvorak: 8^th measure before rehearsal 10 through last measure of rehearsal 10
